New £1M EPSRC-NSF grant on proton conductivity in MOFs! Whoaa!

Despite all the ups and downs, moments of complete hopelessness, and the miraculous turn of fortune, thanks to the immense persistence and energy of my colleague, Prof. Alexander V. Neimark, our EPSRC–NSF grant has finally been approved, agreed upon, and is ready to begin (I think 🤔).

Together with Profs. Martin Schröder and Sihai Yang from the Manchester Framework Materials Group, and our colleagues from ORNL (USA) and IBM (Mathias B Steiner), we will be working on the discovery of new MOFs for enhanced proton conductivity and photocatalytic water splitting.

I would like to thank EPSRC and National Science Foundation (NSF) for their support during these very challenging times for funding agencies and their workers. And finally, my thanks to the Nobel Prize Committee for their impeccable timing 🙂.
